Slight mistake

Everything was slightly wrong this morning.

I woke up and realised I’d forgotten to put my magic wristband back on after my shower, thus robbing myself of 6 hours of magic healing powers (or missed out on fuck all, depending on how you view alternative therapies…I remain firmly in the sceptic camp. If only it didn’t work…!). Then just before leaving the house (and having packed my bag while drinking my tea seconds before) I decided to put my Garmin in it, thus leaving it in my car at work instead of kicking around the office in my rucksack. Only when I got to work I realised I’d then left the whole thing in the dining room. How I’ve no idea but that was my hills plan scuppered.

So my weary, aching shins were instead subjected to a dull loop of the bypass and the old main road to conjure up a slightly alternative just-under 4 mile route with far too much traffic making it anything other than restful.

The nice news is my legs weren’t too painful. Mile two, despite feeling the same as the others, was 14 seconds a mile quicker and overall the experience was over in a mere 28 minutes. Even I can take a little discomfort for that long.

So we’re now 11 days in and I can almost slack off to the extent that my target mileage will be achieved if I carry out a mere 1 mile a day. Which is pretty tempting.

But tomorrow I’m going to attempt to remember my kit and hit that hill. Fingers crossed.

Oh, and I threw some more objects around the conservatory. But avoided planking. Some sit-ups were invested in instead.

139 runs, 96 exercises and 48 cycles to go.

  1. Do you think those magic bands work? I am on the fence. I am always worried I am going to leave my Garmin some where

    cheers

    • I’ve no idea whether the bands work! On the one hand I don’t believe they can. But on the other (even if it is just placebo) I do feel fresher sooner when I wear it. I guess we’ll never know.
And I have suggested to JB getting an ankle sized one to stretch over the foot…direct application placebo might be the way ahead!

  2. You are keeping your amazing pace through all this Sean. Do you know if you can get magic ankle bands to revive tired legs?
