In desperation that my leg is in such a state that I can’t bear any pressure on it at all, i’ve purchased a pair of crutches.
It’s not a good look, they’re not a nice thing to have to resort to, but immobility is the pits. Crawling around downstairs sucks, sitting on my skateboard upstairs isn’t very practical and the jarring as I hop is no good at all – and if I hop too high, I hit the ceilings (16th century ceiling heights are fine when you’re short but not too hot for bouncing!).
I’ve no idea how long it’s going to take to heal – the latest guess is that i’ve done ligament damage (the crack I felt/heard) but why that’s making my toes swell up, i’ve no idea. I’m mostly worried that i’ll start to lose flexiblity if I can’t start stretching it soon, but at least some pain needs to subside before I can even think about that.
I’ve remembered it rained as we got ready for the start and I only took 1.45 to get over the line, I was that near the pointy end of things.
And there was booing as the red start and us blues merged, which was fun. And there were bongo drummers really going for it at one of the underpasses near mile 5 (I think) which was excellent.
And I had to use Cathy and Dave as supports to make it to the train station.
And i’m not happy. With the result, getting injured or anything about it really. Too much preparation, too little reward.
Can I get fat now?
